Brandon Ives recently defended his dissertation at the Department of Government and Politics at the University of Maryland. His research interests include identity and violent and non-violent political behavior. His dissertation examines dual identity, that is, when people have identity links to both their ethnic and national group, and the impact on ethnic protest. Published work include articles published or forthcoming at Journal of Conflict Resolution, International Interactions, and Terrorism and Political Violence. A number of other articles have received offers to revise and resubmit, are under review, and are in preparation.
