Brandon Ives is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Government and Politics at the University of Maryland. His research interests include ethnic identity and the interactive impact of simultaneous identity linkages and political and social conditions on violent and non-violent political behavior. His dissertation examines dual identity, that is, when people have identity links to both their ethnic and national group, and the impact on ethnic protest. Published work includes an article forthcoming in Journal of Conflict Resolution and another article that has been conditionally accepted for publication at International Interactions. A number of other articles are under review and in preparation.
